Lessons From A Flat Tire: Good Ideas

For two weeks I drove around Baltimore on a spare tire. During that time I learned some things and observed some things.

Last time we talked about watching. This lesson is about good ideas.

The state highway worker who stopped to help me told me that a previous governor had been on a trip to Chicago and saw a program they had to help highway motorists. He liked the idea so much that he set up a similar program here in Maryland.

It’s not a 24/7 service, but if you’re on a state highway and have problems you can call “# 77” from your mobile phone and get some help headed your way. The truck is equipped to get you moving or at least to a safer location and can help you call a relative or friend as well. All free of charge. (I hope you never need it, but there you go.)

Anyway, back to good ideas. If you have one, share it. If you see one, use it. A governor saw a good idea and used it many years ago and it helped me out when I was stuck on the side of the road. How has a good idea helped you?
